Simply remove the backing exposing the self-adhesive surface and span the hole with the correct size patch onto the wall. That's it! Now you are ready to apply drywall compound and sand the area as needed. Make sure when you apply the compound that you press the compound through the holes of the patch before applying the finish. The compound that penetrates through the holes helps to create the fire barrier of the patch. The mesh on the patch is what created the featured edge and prevents future cracking around the patch areas.
